Hi! We’re Betsy Goodfriend and Pawan Jajoo, co-founders of GraphR Applications, LLC. We’re also full-time college students at Vanderbilt University and Texas A&M's Mays School of Business, respectively, and the proud inventors of two patents (US 10,339,827 and US 10,839,708) covering IP related to unobtrusive personal device monitoring in the context of anti-cheating for educational software, something we believe is even more relevant given recent world events like the COVID-19 pandemic and an ongoing search for effective virtual or remote learning and exam administration solutions.
As high schoolers, we created a proof-of-concept by developing a graphing calculator app, but quickly realized the potential of our patented anti-cheating detection method and the revolutionary impact it could have on legitimizing “thinking outside of the classroom” without invading student privacy if paired with the right industry partner. Our goal was to reduce the cost associated with taking STEM courses, and the graphR app allowed students and schools of all socioeconomic backgrounds the choice of using any of their existing devices to access powerful engagement analytics tools on our independent learning management platform prototype such as deep-learning AI for improved reliability over time on cheating detection, instant grading, and easily curated calculator menus per question or per exam requirements at one-fifth of the cost of standard classroom graphing / engineering calculators per student.
Now, we're looking to revolutionize the remote learning industry by tackling the privacy concerns and connectivity and compatibility issues for students like us that come with current alternatives to our approach like live proctoring or webcam monitoring software and even obtrusive lock-down browser technology.
